About the class
This class welcomes children who just love art & want the time, space & resources to be truly creative!
Plus it is very beneficial for those who are already doing, or who are thinking about doing GCSE or A-Level art.
They will be mixing with children/teenagers of a similar age (NO little ones!) and it offers them a balance of – self discipline, improving & learning technical skills, freedom of expression & experimentation.
If required, children can be set structured observational drawing practice along side the “freedom of expression” activities.
Drawing practice & technical drawing skills are invaluable for GCSE art, A Level Art & degree courses, plus many creative, design & illustrative career choices.
Children have a choice of using pencils, charcoal, pastels & chalks to draw with & practice can include: perspective, tone, texture, composition, colour, edges & spaces, proportion, scales, angles.
Drawing homework can be set every week, if required, to help children build up their drawing skills & confidence.
Free choice lessons
Children are encouraged to use their initiative & express themselves freely using their own ideas, be imaginative, & take responsibility for their own choice of themes, activities & materials.
Materials available include: paint – water colours, oils, acrylics, clay, mod rock, fabrics, coloured paper & card, plaster of paris, inks, wire & mosaic tiles & much more!
