LITTLE TIGERS Collage Masks!
FUNKY COLLAGE MASK ACTIVITY!!
Jenny from Parsley Pie Art Club is going to show you how to make collage masks with your child, using things you can find in your home & garden & in the park!
If you’re on holiday, you can use things you could collect on the beach too!
Magical butterfly masks for girls & wild dragonfly masks for boys!
MATERIALS:
First you need to download & print out the mask templates,

you will also need:
paint (several colours)
paint brushes
tape
tissue paper or newspaper cut into strips
tin foil cut into strips (2 per mask required)
white/pva glue
scissors
cardboard to cut out the mask from (or use an old cereal box)
coloured beads (or paint rice / lentils to use instead!)
flowers, petals, leaves & twigs, feathers
elastic or string
glitter (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. print out the mask template onto paper & glue it onto the cardboard so that the template is facing up
2. carefully cut out the shape of the mask
3. Poke a hole through the centres of the eyes and cut out the eye-holes.
This is definitely an adult’s job!
4. paint your mask! You can use as many different colours & be as wild & creative as you like!
• while you wait for your mask to dry off, you can go hunting!
4. collect from your garden or the park flowers, petals, leaves & twigs, feathers
if you are near a beach you can collect shells to put on your mask or mix sand &?pva glue to stick on your mask too!
5. now, get sticking! Glue your feathers, flowers, beads & leaves etc onto your mask!
6. next, twist the foil strips & attach them with tape to the top of the mask for the antennae
7. tape the tissue paper strips to the edges of the wings of the mask or colour the newspaper strips first then attach
8. position the mask on your child’s face. Mark the appropriate spot on each side of the mask to punch holes. After you punch the holes, reinforce them with tape so that the mask doesn’t rip while your child is wearing it. Thread a length of string or elastic through each hole & secure. Make sure the mask fits snugly so it doesn’t fall off!
9. now you’re done!
