This year’s competition & exhibition will be hosted by Queenie Mumbles in Altrincham!!

Two winners will be chosen by a public vote, so come to Queenie Mumbles & cast yours between 15th September - 5th October!

The competition theme is “characters” and here are the entries so far! I am so proud of all the children (aged between 5 - 16 years) who have taken part!

• the competition is to create a 2D or 3D picture and is open to all children who attend Parsley Pie Art Club
• the competition theme is characters! Choose your character from any children’s book, film, cartoon, TV show or comic
• Eg: Harry Potter to the Beatrix Potter animals! Star Wars to Scooby-Doo! Shrek to Hannah Montana!
• art club provide all art materials & the fastenings to wall mount each picture at the venue
• pictures can incorporate: paint, glue, clay, mosaic, jewels, glitter, pastels, charcoal & collage materials
• there will be two winners! (one in each age category) & winners will be decided by a public vote
• the age categories are 8 years & under and 9 years & over
• you can vote by visiting Queenie Mumbles & putting your completed voting slip into the ballot box!
• voting slips are available at Queenie Mumbles only

COMPETITION PRIZES!! each winner will receive £40.00 worth of great prizes!

• each winner receives a £20.00 voucher for a shop of their choice!!
(for example WH Smith, Monsoon, Toys”R”Us or any other local shop in Hale or Altrincham)
• each winner will also receive a £20.00 Queenie Mumbles voucher for their family!

COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

• all pictures must be created at Parsley Pie Art Club during term time or Summer holiday lessons
• all pictures must be on a wooden board & be able to easily hang on a wall. (3D objects are not acceptable)
• children can start their entry as soon as Jenny receives a completed entry form & the entry fee
• children can take a long as they wish to work on their pictures up to the competition deadline: 14th August
• each child is allowed to enter one picture only, & it must be based on the competition theme
• the child’s name must not appear on the front of their picture
• on the back of their picture each child must have clearly written their: full name, age, D.O.B.

COMPETITION DATES & DEADLINES

• 14th August 2009 = COMPETITION DEADLINE! Pictures must be finished properly with edges painted!
• votes will be counted & the 2 winners will be announced at the end of the competition/ exhibition
• entries will be returned to the children at the art club studio, after the competition/ exhibition has finished

Well known local chef Arlindo M F Anjo has returned to Altrincham to open Queenie Mumbles & the Odd Shoes Bistro.

Situated in the picturesque Goose Green area of Altrincham, Queenie Mumbles is a unique concept that aims to provide something for everyone. Carrying on into the evening we turn down the lights, put the toys away and Queenie Mumbles hosts the ‘ODD SHOES BISTRO’

The Bistro, currently BYO (bring your own wine) though soon to be licensed, serves modern European food with Anjo’s Portuguese twist.
With the emphasis on taste and presentation the bistro serves you honest uncomplicated food in relaxed surroundings!
