Established in 2001 by Jenny Bent, Parsley Pie Art Club gives children aged over 5 years a unique opportunity & fun, creativity & learning is the key!

Parsley Pie Art Club has helped and guided countless children from all over Cheshire & South Manchester with their creative enjoyment!

Parsley Pie Art Club is only one mile from Hale Village in Cheshire. It is the only art club for kids over five in this area!

Parsley Pie Art Club is located at “Perenbast Studio” Jenny’s professional art studio and welcomes children of all abilities who live anywhere! Children travel from near and far to attend Parsley Pie Art Club: Hale, Altrincham, Timperley, Chorlton, Didsbury, Bowdon, Sale, Ashley, Knutsford, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Whitefield, Chester, Congleton……..

FUN & LEARNING
Jenny enjoys passing on her knowledge and aims to inspire others with a friendly, open & positive approach. Children learn and progress, develop their ideas, improve their confidence, explore their imaginations, use their own initiative, relax and have fun! Jenny helps, advises and guides the children, providing a fine balance of: as much structure as an individual needs, but without taking over!

AIMS
Parsley Pie Art Club strives to encourage freedom of expression. It produces brilliant results when children create things they are interested in!

From personal experience, Jenny’s own passion for painting was drowned at college, being told to do this, do that, hurry up & having no time to explore ideas to keep up with a Curriculum, you can’t do this, you can’t do that! This DOES NOT inspire creativity! It is NOT what art, any of the arts, painting, music, dance is truly about! I do appreciate that in schools & colleges, tutors have to follow rules, time scales, formats etc but to me, art & creativity is really about freedom! Jenny concentrated on 3D art, clay, textiles, metal work & then after leaving college, she re-discovered her passion for painting!

It helps the creative process and a child’s determination if they like & can relate to the subject they are working on. They absorb more & learn more with out realizing it, use their imaginations more because they are happy!

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
While Jenny feels that some of the most important artistic traits to have are inspiration, passion, imagination and motivation she also firmly believes that there are plenty of skills & techniques that can be taught. Painting & brush techniques, colour mixing, using different types of paint, working with different materials, clay techniques and drawing skills can all open up a vast realm of creative possibilities and improve the child’s confidence. Jenny can demonstrate particular skills which enable children to reach their creative goals.
Confidence building & the right environment can also help children feel more passion, be more motivated & open to learning new things, helping them discover what inspires them, what they like & don’t like, their own & limits & goals.

FREEDOM
The freedom of choice & freedom of expression that Parsley Pie Art Club thrives on encourages children to use their initiative & make their own decisions; teaching them how to be responsible for their own choices & actions, helping them understand the importance & the benefits of self responsibility, self discipline & patience if they want to have freedom!

From talking to both parents and children, Jenny knows that in many schools, due to the high proportion of time used for academic lessons, little or no time is left for creative subjects such as art & many children lose out.
